A certain fictional Southern heroine was ahead of her time— “reduce, reuse, recycle” never looked so good as when she used her green velvet drapes, gold trim and tassels to make a fancy dress. Perfect for cool summer evenings or as a modest cover for bare shoulders at a summer wedding, this lacy fichu was inspired by that most famous drapery dress. Its linen fabric is much lighter than velvet drapes but equally fetching as a frame for your own pretty neck and shoulders. Why fiddle-dee-dee, it’s quite an easy lace knitting project, even if you’ve never knit lace before!
