I am going to write a book. I am going to write a book? In fact, I am going to write a series of books. Now that I've committed this to print, it seems more real. Holy Hannah! My son's a writer -- a REAL writer, so I hope he got that gene from me? But he writes plays and films, many of which involve someone meeting and untimely or ignominious end. Me? I'm going to write knitting books. Well, travel/knitting/cooking books. No one will kick the bucket in my books, I promise. What's crazy is that I practiced law for 25 years as a vicious, take-no-prisoners litigator. Then I started a website for knitters and crocheters at www.PlanetPurl.com, where I am PurlQueen. And now I'm going to write travel/knitting/cooking books. I think this may be one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.
I started this blog to chronicle my journey to write and publish my first book -- "Deep South Knitting." The good, the bad, the ugly, the patterns, the yarns, the shops, the restaurants, and the best eats from the Deep South. And there will be chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate. My favorite things all in one book -- knitting, travel and really great food (did I mention chocolate?). It's going to be fun! And a bit scary. I think it's time for some chocolate and maybe a cocktail....
